What authors/books encourage you to write, and which don't?
I'm currently reading Becoming A Writer by Dorothea Brande and she suggests that there are books and authors that are our "meat", that give us the motivation to write, and there are also books and authors that are our "poison", who essentially kill our desire to write. I'd love to hear what people consider their meat and poison when it comes to reading and writing.
