LOL! I have a character like that in one of my novels. He loves exciting things to happen, and he's pinpointed another person who's a magnet for this sort of thing

He doesn't consider himself a sidekick though.

My critique group initially thought he was comic relief until they realized later that he has some nifty powers of his own.
