I had something similar happen with me. I submitted the first chapter of my novel to a contest and somehow I edited it after the deadline. That disqualified me. I was crushed. I couldn't believe it. I still have no idea what I edited.

It was tough, but I got over it. You'll get past this, too. Look at it this way, you will still get acknowledgement when you're finished and you'll get your novel written too. So the ultimate goal will be achieved.

Keep writing! Keep going. You'll still be cheered on!
