It is so cool how the characters speak to you. I was writing my required antagonist character background story and couldn't figure out why I was so unhappy with it. I took a break and did some real life stuff and came back to it a little later. That's when my character spoke to me. He said, "That is not me. I would never react that way in this situation." I went back and read his profile and realized I did have him all wrong. After that, it was easy to write his story.
