Simple things that seem unrelated will bring back the memories.

Lotion, an ingredient in lip balm, it's too quiet around her, stone walls, wet stone walls, packed dirt floors/ground, a way her captor said certain things, the bark of a small dog, any feeling of being dirty: dirty fingernails, chapped lips, any incident where she gets her hands or another part of her dirty that wasn't intentional, or intentional but she didn't expect to get it on her (I don't want to touch cat or dog vomit, but sometimes it happens when I'm cleaning it up) ...
