Personally, I think you're ahead of the writing game--seventeen and already know you want to write. I took a creative writing course while in college (many years ago) and liked it well enough. But I didn't start writing seriously until almost 48. Now I can't imagine not writing.

I look forward to reading some of your work. Best of luck in all your writing endeavors.
