Noticing Newbies

Hey everyone, new to the site (and online forums if being honest), but since this might be the next best thing to an actual writing group I suppose I should learn. And about me I guess: Currently living in the Pacific Northwest, trying to get back on the writing train after a few years time. I also have an old orange tabby, and am a multi-instrumentalist. :D Lover of all books (except Dan Brown), currently reading: The Passage (Justin Cronin), The Gunslinger (Stephen King), and Mistborn (Brandon Sanderson).

I have one piece in my portfolio, the prologue of a short story (although it seems to be mutating into a novella) that I've been working on for far too long. If anyone is interested, I'm an honest reciprocator....reciprocate-eder? ..... I'll also review something of yours.
