I'm sure writing m/m would be fine. I don't know of any contests on WDC that prohibit that. Downton Abbey is a prime example of character development, it's the reason I watched it and then, like millions of others, I got hooked on it. If you have Netflix or Amazon Prime, or a local library where you can check out the episodes, I think you like the program.
