Most publishers want First Rights, which is to be the first to make your work public.

Yes, you need to rewrite those, so you don't get caught when an editor does a pre-pub check. BUT, unless you are an awesome writer, they probably could have used a rewrite anyway.
AND, if you are an awesome writer, you should have no problem generating new content that is just like the old content.
Also, keep in mind Google will kill those links eventually, when it sees they are dead. You may be able to speed that along by contacting them/using their reporting tools.
