Hi Tobber, you are probably going to hate my answer, but I am going to give it to you anyway. The way to writing great, dynamic prose is to read it. Lots of it. And read it like a writer, which means looking at the word choices, the sentence structures, how the author has fed through his/her ideas - the order in which they are presented. And then practice doing something similar.
Sometimes it is hard to get one's sentences and ideas to flow, but the best thing to do when that happens is to carry on writing anyway, finish the story or poem draft and then move on to the next thing. You may find that working on something different refreshes your inspiration and creativity.
If that doesn't happen, well, all you have to do is read some more.
