I would make sure to save my stories on a flash drive or something free like Google Drive or put into free blog service, but I would not request a different level of membership be donated to you. Memberships, even donated aren't free, they were paid for with either cash or bought with points- points that had to earned or bought or raised or donated.
It would be like a starving person turning down a free hamburger and requesting a porterhouse steak.
