..Direct the actors to look more perky, or recast.
As for drawn out scenes..Chop pieces.
For example, in a movie where there's a car chase. It might be exciting for the first two minutes, but if it 'drags on' for what seems like forever, the audience might start being more interested in the candy or pop corn they're eating. *Laugh*
