Maybe OT -- India's independence and its first film family
Today is Indias 70th Independence Anniversary.
My niece is part of the Citizens' Archive of India, interviewing senior people of their memories of 15 Aug 1947.
Here, a man speaks of watching the celebrations -- including the KAPOORS, celebrating.
The Kapoors have been Bollywood's first family for generations. This man recalls seeing the patriarch of the family, with HIS FATHER and the next generation (whom Indian film goers venerate) in a truck, dancing and singing to celebrate Independence, with a banner announcing that they're PRUTHVI THEATRE.
