1. "The Bronco Riding Rooster" is a Book item, not a Static item. Book items don't have a Word Count in the Item Tools. The Word Count function is available for the individual entries, instead.
2. You put your chapter in the wrong place.
The Body text box of a Book item where you can add text is for the equivalent of the back cover blurb, not anything that would get a page number in a real book.
The pieces of the content of the book -- chapters -- each go in an entry after the Book item is created. See Book Entries from Writing.Com 101 for directions.
3. The word count function cannot be accessed until the entry has been saved.
After saving, you click on the gear icon at the upper right of the entry to open the Entry Tools menu, and choose Word Count. Then you can edit the entry to add the word count information.
Please give links to an example of an item and the image or photo that doesn't print.
Hope that helps.
