1st or 3rd person

How do I decide what tense to write it? I have a 1st draft of a book written in 1st person. However, as I attempt to do the 2nd draft, I seriously wonder if 3rd person would make the story richer, especially if I made it omniscient. On the other hand, 1st person will make my story more personal. Is there some sort of guide to use that will make it easier to decide?
