I'm writing a novel whose inpiration comes from Shackleton's escape from Antarctica in 1915. I turned it on its head somewhat, so instead of the survivors, it's the rescuers that have to go through hell and back. I've chosen an entirely different location for the story.

Interestingly, the Thai football team and their coach getting trapped in the caves and the extraordinary rescue also has echoes with the story, and since this unfolded after I began writing, it has gripped me somewhat. I am so glad they all made it out.
