| Summer Blues Summer's come upon us now Sunshine is everywhere. Sweat flows freely from my brow Sand gets into my hair. Under sunscreen -- one inch thick Unhappily, I'd hide. Umbrellas seldom do the trick Unless they're ten feet wide. Neither the misty water spray Nor ice pack helps me cool. Nothing keeps the heat at bay Not even the pool. Once Spring ends, and Summer's here Oh, how my heart does grieve. Only thoughts of Autumn cheer Offer me some reprieve! |
