I cannot emphasize this enough: there are some pretty profound things happening in both stories, and I'm floored by the maturity of the subject matter and execution. Outstanding job, you two :) I'd love to announce a (well deserved) tie today, but I did choose a winning tale by the slimmest of margins: bobturn's "Invalid Entry"  I hope bobturn doesn't mind, but I'll leave you with an excerpted quote from his story: “One must follow one’s dreams even if they are utter nightmares.” Gives me shivers and the willies!!
