While reading this I had a sudden idea, what if ALTO starts off as an ordinary corporation, then secretly creates a virus that brings the world to its knees, forcing the government to adopt the program.

I really like how this story is turning out.

Also, what does the technology in this era look like? Is it advanced or just slightly improved?
