*Questionb*Re: VARSOL? Jake Johann...
by ruwth

Zen,

Thank you so much for sharing all this information with me. I do now know the product mentioned in the movie was Varsol which is the brandname of a product that has been used in compasses.

But I still have not been able to find the movie in which this fact was referenced in a funny way.

What started me on this odd search was a chat in Scroll the other day. Another member has posted a word that just seemed to come out of nowhere and I responded: "Varse Oil!".

My silly response was based on a movie my ex-hisband had introduced me to. He was inclined to blurt out Varsol at random times like the character in the movie and got me doing it as well!

Oh my!! As I wrote the previous entry, I realized Varsol was the liquid in compasses (not snow globes) and, just this minute, I think I remember the source of the silly comment.

Instead of a movie, I think it came from a Jake Johannsen routine.

Let me see if Google will help me find that!!

If I find it, I will come back and edit this post with the info...

I found a YouTube video of an HBO Comedy Special. I can't link the video because it contains some f-bombs. If you want to see it, you can Google:

jake johannsen this'll take about an hour

The Varsol reference is at about 42-43 minutes. The language issue is mainly toward the end of the hour.
