~ The Poet's Place Cafe~

Thanks Elysia, we had a nice Christmas here at home entertaining family (the senior set) and friends (also senior without family near by). I'll be travelling south to spend time with the grandkids the first week in January, there will be presents that Santa accidently dropped off at my home that I will have to deliver then. After all the Wise Men didn't arrive bearing gifts until Epiphany which is celebrated January 6. (the 12th day of Christmas) I have a Swedish friend who's family didn't exchange any gifts until Epiphany and they would have family gather for a feast. I've been lucky enough to be included in their celebration and since then have traditionally celebrated on Christmas and also held back some gifts for Epiphany and made a special dinner for my own family.

The form used for my poem is a Nonet   which is similar to the Lanterne   in that they are both unrhymed and syllabic.But the Lanterne is only 5 lines and meant to create a shape, where the Nonet is all about the number 9. Nine lines with diminishing syllable count from 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.
