Just thought I'd put it out there...

Today is the 8th anniversary of my joining WDC.


In that time I've had 1 novel, 45 short stories, 10 poems and 1 essay published, with another novel and 2 more short stories already slated for 2019, all by traditional (not self-publishing) routes. (Okay, novellas, not novels.) Before coming here, 8 short stories, 2 poems, one essay - that was it.


I'd like to thank WDC for helping me. As I critique others, I learn more about what I should/should not be doing, and my work improves subsequently. While I have not received many critiques myself, me doing it has helped.

WDC has given me that opportunity. And while I don't publish any negative critiques any longer, even those pieces of writing I feel are not that good, I have learnt from. If I can get one little thing (a "try this" or a "avoid this") from everything I critique here, then WDC remains an invaluable resource.
