All these are good bits of advice. I quarrel with none of them.

I would simply observe that, in it's simplest formulation, Writers write. Yeah, it's productive to tie yourself to a fixed output, however it is measured, but you first have to be a writer. That means showing up. Every day. If it's to be more than a hobby, then you need to create a space, both physical and psychological, that you go to, when you are reporting for work.

Flaubert once observed, "This morning, I added a comma. This afternoon, I took it back out."

Report for work. Make it your priority. Then start figuring out what your output should be.
