Meh. What Soldier doesn't have trouble sleeping? lol If I recall, it was originally a blood pressure medicine, but they discovered it had other benefits as well.

One of the sleep meds was originally designed as an anti-depressant (or anti-psychotic, I forget which). But it had to be used at such high doses that the patients just slept all the time. Now it's mainly just used in lower doses as a sleep med. Convenient.
