I hope someone can help me. I've written a sentence with several different sets of quotation marks, and i'm not sure if i need to use a conjunction to link them.
She heard them grumble, saying, "not how it's done," "ridiculous idea," "nobody asked her."
So, do I need "and" between the second and third statements?
