If you write it like that, yes. Also initial caps for each quote. Technically okay, but I've never seen it done that way in traditionally published books.

Or you can leave out the redundant wording and format it in separate speech paragraphs:

They grumbled.

"Not how it's done."

"Ridiculous idea."

"Nobody asked her."
