In addition to what Shaye said, note that --

You can edit and/or delete items in your port as often as you want, and that when you delete and purge an item, that frees up a slot in your port to create a new item. In other words, the limit of 50 is "at the same time," not "ever."

Some members recycle their port space for financial reasons, rather than move up to a higher membership.

The primary purpose of storage space here is to get feedback on the content of your works in progress, rather than to be an archive of your completed works.
