I took a long look at the examples (especially the original Welsh one, which was so wonderfully full of extra internal rhyme and consonance and assonance) and wrote a few attempts of the form, but this is the one I ended up being happy with. The link said that alliteration, consonance, assonance, and extra internal rhyme (on top of what's already required by the form itself) are important in Welsh poetry to achieve "harmony of sound," so I tried to carry that over into English! I stuffed those four lines about as full as I could with alliteration and internal rhyme. "Lovers' Dance" |
