Proud to call you Mama

They say we look like sisters except your darkened hair
though we are mom and daughter with more than twenty years between
I the daughter of a delicate fifty-two
you the mother still a young seventy-six

They say we could be twins, because we look very much alike,
It is easy for people to tell we are related
people are aghast at your age because
you appear so very much younger than your age

I am so very proud of your great beauty, sparkling green eyes
You also have a wonderfully warm personality which is sweet
I'm ever so happy to call you mama you make my life complete
I love you and I know you love me also, my heart leaps for joy.
