I have a few stories I am working on. That was all written like I did in college for the most part. I tell most through third person point of view. I began working on showing and not telling until this week. Now I am playing around with creative writing. Do I creatively describe every detail of every scene? I am planning to write short stories, is this something I do with every story, or is there a point of too much? I am not sure I guess... and I am working with a book and its exercises to improve, I am just unclear if this become the style for all my story-telling. I guess the who point is to bring the reading into the story, so I guess I have to describe everything in such detail for their benefit. Am I correct? Even if it is a short story every paragraph, every scene, and every element must be described in great detail as long as it pertains to moving the story along. Correct? I really thank you all for 'Any' direction and advice on this you can give me - - this is really all new for me (writing creatively). Thank You Kindly, Bob |
