Oh, I am so with you in this. I love visiting ghost towns and old cemeteries. My next exploration is going to be a preserved Japanese Internment Camp in southern California. I actually have a friend (deceased last year) who was born in an internment camp. I have been trying to get there for the last couple of years but it will take an overnight trip because it is so out of the way and it seems something keeps coming up to interfere. But since Jerry died it has become a pilgrimage in his honor I need to do.
(His family owned an apple ranch in the area where I live. When WWII broke out and the Japanese were rounded up, neighbors ran the ranch while the family was interned so they had their home to return to after the war. Ranchers here did that for a couple of families I know of, I'm proud to live in a community that did that.)
