Northernwrites is most correct. The first thing I do when blocked is shake everything else off. I try to clear my mind of worry about messing up, about not being good enough, about being me, and I let my mind wander and wonder until it settles on a scene. Any scene. Say a leaf falls in a forest. What happens then? It falls at the feet of a woodsman. What does he do? He ignores it because he is hiding from the Sheriff's men. And so on until it either becomes a bunch of senseless words or something begins to happen. Of course, that is just me, and you will have to develop your own method to your own madness. Good luck.
