It's still a good start. I know some years for NaNo I've only gotten 10-15k in total but any writing is still progress. Hard when you have limits to location and the time frames. Library can be a great place but there are certainly availability limits. I know the one in Burbank oddly enough closes on the weekend, which seems weird to me.
