You can't combine GPs and money -- you have to purchase the GPs needed to finish out your payment.

You can pay for anything in the shop with Gift Points simply by choosing the "Pay By Gift Points" option at check out.

GPs convert to dollars at 10,000 GPs = $1.00

You can also purchase memberships with GPs via the "Points" -> "Shop with Gift Points" page.
