We choose to spend our precious time (and sometimes money) writing stories because we love doing it. Some hope to make money this way, but many try to connect with others through their stories. But other people don’t have to spend their precious time reading what we wrote. Yet they stop by and allow us to touch their minds. It’s a gift: they are giving us a piece of their attention.
Even the fluffiest non-helpful unsolicited review is a gift of reader’s time, and it’s only polite to show your appreciation. GP is the easiest way to say thank you, but if you think it’s bribery (wow!), there are other ways to express gratitude: some reviewers would enjoy a thoughtful review back, others would gladly have a post-review discussion.
