Hi Penny and welcome to WDC! A great way to join in and participate is to jump in. There are many great contests and activities at this site. When you try them out, you meet people and they will most likely review your writing. May I suggest this contest that has daily prompts. "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge"  Do you like blogging? Here is one challenge I recommend. "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS"
