Gifs turned off but so as YouTube videos

I was wondering if there is any chance to separate gif and video embed tag so that when I turn off gifs I don't turn of YouTube videos as well. I like seeing YT videos in people's blogs and on the newsfeed, especially if there is some musical activity going around (and we have a couple of those that are quite popular), and would love to continue seeing those without necessarily seeing gifs.
