Reviewing merit badges?

Many years ago, these were given automatically for a lot of reviews in a month. I forget how many. It's been many years and maybe the system has changed. I read about the amazing review influencer points in Writing.com 101, but I couldn't find an answer to my question: what happened to the monthly merit badges?
