A Question About a Plot Point

I’m currently reading the chapters in BoM that lead into the current one being published in The Wandering Stars. I don’t think I’ve ever asked this to Seuzz in private. (I also checked the wiki to see if there was anything that would’ve made this post redundant.) This is probably new to the lore but it might be fun to hash it out:
