If you don't want to enter contests, why not just share something you've written? You can ask for reviews from members, or you can see if anyone notices. Reviews are at the heart of this website, so you can be sure to receive something. If you want to review other people's work, that would be welcome, too.

In the meantime, like Emily said, setting up you Bio Block on your main page would be a great way to share a little of yourself.
