Self-Publishing Advice

I have been asked by a local writer if I can help her with self-publishing.
I don't do self-publishing, so I am asking:

1) What self-publishing options do WdC members recommend, or have used and don't recommend, or know of being good?

2) Apart from Wattpad, are there any other online platforms for showcasing your writing?

FWIW, I did try to convince her to join WdC, but she does not know what she'll get out of it. I don't push people, so I am letting it go.
