The Science Fiction Short Story Contest

I was curious too, so I checked out the following:

I see that upgraded members get 250 static items. Myself, I'm an upgraded member, and since 2017 I've used 55 out of my 250 items. So I suppose I just copied other contests and haven't given it a lot of thought. Still, I think that for this contest it's appropriate to ask for contest items to be stand-alone static items, not entries within a book. If someone is creating so many entries a month that becomes a hardship, recycling space or asking for someone to help them upgrade to a higher membership seems reasonable to me. Hosting data isn't free for writing.com, and my experience with the website so far has been very positive, and well worth the money.
