Writing.com moderator posting libelous reviews of my book
Hi everyone, I'm wondering what my next step is here?

In May 2020, I discovered that a moderator here on Writing.com had posted a provably false and libelous one-star Amazon review of one of my books.

It's a lot more serious than you might think--his review did irreparable damage. I'm keeping the details of that to myself, but it isn't just "oh no, someone lied about me, boo hoo." I could have ignored it if it were just that. No, the damage went far beyond that.

I didn't (and still don't) know who he was, but found him on Facebook and on writing.com. I sent him polite private messages on Facebook and on this site, presenting the facts, offering to send him a copy of my book so he could see I don't do what he claimed I was doing, and asking him to modify or delete his review. The damage was already done, but at least his review wouldn't continue do damage my reputation.

He blocked me (or deleted his account) on Facebook, so I know he saw my messages. But he never responded, nor did he respond to my private messages on writing.com.

I then submitted a private complaint through the reporting system in this website. No response.

Eventually, I turned to Amazon. Amazon investigated my case and deleted his review. (Libelous reviews are against Amazon's review policy.)

This week, I discovered by accident that he had submitted a similar one-star review to Good Reads, and now I'm wondering where else he's been doing this.

Are there any other mods on this site, or is there only one? If he's the only one, then obviously nothing is going to happen, but if there are other mods, I'd like them to look into this.

I would very much like to resolve this peacefully, and I continue to be optimistic that it's just a case of mistaken identity.

Thank you.

Regards,

Marina E. Michaels
