This device is very useful for emphasis, as applied in a popular beer commercial ( https://www.nbcsports.com/video/super-bowl-bud-light-dilly-dilly-part-i ) and can also be used to generate rhythm, as clearly demonstrated in the Everly Brothers' hit song All I Have To Do Is Dream   or the original "dilly dilly" song Lavender Blue   .
