Snow Day

Overhead, gray clouds hang low
Air smells like new fallen snow
January comes to a close
Kids await the call from school
Announcement of a snow day
So they can go out and play
Forts are built and snowballs fly
Kids are called home, as sun sets
To warm hearts, dinners, and beds
To dream again of snow days
When gray clouds hang over low
And air smells like the new snow
