A modern ode is a poem that praises something, written with a distinct metric beat and rhyming pattern.

An Romantic ode was a poem about an emotion or emotionally high topic, using a lot of fancy language stylings.

A traditional ode was a song to celebrate a hero.

Is that what you mean?
