Don't be discouraged. Set the story aside. Pick it up in the future and perhaps after some experience or confidence, you'll know what to dump and what to save. And yes, sometimes you have to abandon the story all together. Try some daily contests, some site entries, get your groove on. You are not just one story. Don't give up.
