Sure there is. Right in your port. If you have already started something, click on it and open it. At the right-hand top is a little emblem that resembles a wheel. Click on that and click "edit" at the top. Scroll down below the box that holds your work, and you will see a bunch little boxes that you had already filled out when you first made the static I assume). The box that holds "for the public" click on that again and you can choose "Private for my eyes only." That will keep it private until you change it back again. It will also surround the item's Title in your port with a pink border.

If starting a brand new, (much easier) because you have to fill all those boxes in first--just mark Private for my eyes only first instead leaving it Public.
