Can anyone tell me why this software hates my guts and ruins all my files when I try to compile them? Whenever I compile a text, words get stuck to each other at seemingly semi-random manner. There are patterns to this madness, such as that italicized words seem to have, like, a 90% chance to get stuck to their neighboring, non-italicized words, and, like, most often words get stuck to punctuation marks preceding them. But they also get stuck seemingly with complete randomness as well. Most of the time it's just two words stuck together, but I've caught up to six word long letter-centipedes in there. Imagine having to do this sort of hunting each time you finish a story! I've been doing it for a long time now with my short stories, but I just finished about a million pages long book and it's riddled with this stuff! Now I'm in hell! This is seriously infuriating! Also, I think the same thing happens even if I just copy paste the text into word, but it doesn't happen if I copy paste into notepad! But notepad breaks all other formatting, so that sucks as well. Plus copy pasting 40,000 chapters is already an unpleasant chore in itself. Also, there's the mode in Scrivener where it shows all the spaces as dots and stuff like that. Viewed in that mode, it all looks good, so that doesn't provide any clues, either. Anybody have any idea? |
