October Novel Prep Challenge

I've not yet added that to any character profile - major or minor - but I realized that food can serve as a great character in a story, especially as a connector between characters.


I musta dreamt about them tonight - don't really remember - but suddenly I got the idea that Laura cooks (or better bakes) herself and Vincent a culinary "comforter" from her childhood in the night after the Big Argument (a.k.a. CLIMAX).

He's half-Italian and a foodie by default, but a bit clumsy about it because he first doesn't know how to fill the days after his mental meltdown (too much time all of a sudden!) during his sick leave from work... and returns to the stomach-filling comfort.

Laura has turned her teeny-weeny roof terrace into a fruit and veggie garden (even grows potatoes).

And so on...
